Minister Of Religion Nasaruddin Asks For A Thorough Investigation Of The Tragedy Of The Ciomas Taklim Council

Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation regarding the collapse of the Asohiziyah Taklim Council building in Sukamakmur Village, Ciomas, Bogor Regency, West Java, which killed three people and injured dozens of worshipers during the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday, Sunday, September 7.

"We are waiting for the results of the investigation of the cause. Evaluation must be carried out so that similar incidents do not happen elsewhere," said Nasaruddin after visiting the victim at the Bogor City Hospital, quoted by ANTARA.

According to Nasaruddin, technical factors for buildings need special attention. Although currently the government's priority is the handling of victims, the results of the investigation will determine preventive measures in the future.

"The important thing right now is that we focus on the victims, including the children who are injured. But the cause of the collapse must be revealed," he said.

He also reminded the public to use this incident as a joint lesson. Religious warnings, said Nasaruddin, must continue to pay attention to aspects of building safety and capacity.

Previously, Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto revealed that the initial suspicion of the collapse of the taklim assembly was due to excess capacity. Around 150 worshipers filled the location, partly on the terrace of the building standing on the edge of the cliff. The terrace then collapsed because it could not withstand the load.

Bogor Regency BPBD data recorded three deaths, while dozens others suffered serious, moderate, or minor injuries. The police have installed a police line at the location and brought in a team of construction experts to investigate the alleged negligence of the building.
