Pramono To DKI Athletes Ahead Of PON 2028: I Don't Ask For Anything, Just Ask For The General Champion

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has one message to DKI Jakarta athletes who will take part in the DKI Jakarta Regional Training Center (Pelatda) in preparation for the XXII National Sports Week (PON) 2028 in NTB and NTT.

Pramono asked the DKI athlete contingent to achieve overall achievements in the national level of sports event in the next three years.

This was revealed by Pramono in the Grand Apple in commemoration of the 42nd National Sports Day (Haornas) at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta.

"My message is only one, the overall champion. I don't ask for anything, just ask for the overall champion. Let's together realize our common desire, that Jakarta is the center of national athletes who have achievements, not only nationally, but also internationally," said Pramono, Sunday, September 7.

Pramono added that Haornas is a motivation for Jakarta, which is transforming towards a global city to further increase its role in organizing national and international events in the capital city.

On the other hand, Pramono said he was proud of the student and student athletes who will compete in the XXIX National Student Sports Week (Pomnas) which will be held in Solo and Semarang, Central Java, on 19 27 September 2025; XXVII National Student Sports Week (Popnas); and XI National Student Paralympic Week (Pepapernas) on November 1, 2025 in Jakarta.

He emphasized that the presence of student athletes at Pomnas is clear evidence that Jakarta has intelligent, superior, resilient and ready to compete to become the overall champion.

Likewise with Popnas and Pepapernas, which are the birth spaces for potential young athletes from various regions as well as into inclusive containers that provide equal opportunities for all children of the nation, including athletes with disabilities.

"As the host, Jakarta is committed to providing the best, transparent organizing from the management process to student sports coaching in Indonesia," Pramono explained.

He hopes that sports in Jakarta and Indonesia will be more widespread, have character, and can become the identity of the nation as well as the driving force of the national economy.

"In the future, I also hope that the DKI Dispora, DKI KONI, and the DKI National Paralympic Committee of Indonesia (NPCI) can strengthen their synergy with various parties to make Jakarta a barn for achievements as well as a center for national sports activities," he explained.

In the apple, Pramono confirmed 613 athletes, 118 coaches, and 105 assistant coaches who will take part in the DKI Jakarta Regional Training Center for PON XXII 2028 in NTB and NTT; released 554 athletes from DKI Jakarta who will compete at Pomnas 2025 in Solo and Semarang; as well as starting the official countdown to Popnas XVII and Pepapernas XI which will be held in Jakarta in 2025.
