Now Transferred From Commission III Of The DPR, This Is Ahmad Sahroni's Political Career

YOGYAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives from the NasDem Party faction, Ahmad Sahroni, was transferred from his position as Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR to Commission I. This was confirmed by the Secretary General of the NasDem Party, Hermawi Taslim.

According to Hermawi, this mutation is not a removal, but a part of ordinary rotation for internal refreshment. "There is no removal, just a refresher. It's just a normal rotation," he explained to reporters.

The position of Deputy Chairman of Commission III is now filled by H. Rusdi Masse Mappasessu, who previously served in Commission IV. This rotation took effect on Friday, August 29.

However, the public considers this step inseparable from Ahmad Sahroni's statement which has drawn controversy, including when he called the pressure to disband the DPR as a stupid person mentally during a working visit to the North Sumatra Police on Friday, August 22.

"The mentality of humans who are like that is the mentality of the world's most stupid people. Note this, people who just say disbandment of the DPR is the world's stupid people. Why? We are all smart people? Don't be stupid, all of us," said Sahroni.

Ahmad Sahroni was born in Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, on August 8, 1977. The man who is known as crazy rich Tanjung Priok comes from a simple family, his father and mother sell Padang rice in the port area.

Since childhood, Sahroni has been used to working hard. He was once a shoe polisher, a pick-up driver for school children, to an umbrella motorcycle taxi to help the family's economy. In fact, he had been a washer on a foreign cruise ship before finally embarking on a better career.

Despite living with limitations, Sahroni did not forget education. After completing secondary education, he continued to college.

Sahroni completed his bachelor's degree at the Pelita Bangsa Institute of Economics in 2009 and master's degree at the InterStudi Stikom in 2020. It didn't stop there, he continued his doctoral degree at the University of Borobudur Jakarta and earned his doctorate in 2024.

Before entering politics, Ahmad Sahroni pursued a career as a fuel truck driver at a company. Thanks to his dedication and hard work, he was trusted to be promoted to operational staff, then continued to climb to occupy the position of director of operations.

It did not stop there, Sahroni's business career continued to increase until he became the main director of several oil fuel transportation companies, including PT. Sagakos Intec and PT. Ekasimudra Lima.

Ahmad Sahroni's political career began in 2013 when he joined the NasDem Party. A year later, Sahroni managed to walk to Senayan as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives representing the DKI Jakarta III electoral district. In his first term, he served in Commission XI, before being transferred to Commission III in charge of law, human rights and security.

In 2019, Sahroni was trusted to serve as Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR. In the next period, he was re-elected with the same position.

Meanwhile, in the NasDem Party, Sahroni has served as the General Treasurer of the NasDem Party DPP since 2019.

From a son selling Padang rice to becoming a successful businessman and a national politician, Ahmad Sahroni proved that a simple background is not a barrier to breaking the big stage.
