No Longer In The Detention Center, The Former Karo Ekonomi Of The NTB Secretariat For The Corruption Suspect Of COVID-19 Masks Becomes A City Prisoner

Mataram City Police (Polresta) investigators transferred the detention status of the former Head of the Economic Bureau of the Regional Secretariat (Sekda) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, Wirajaya Kusuma, from prison detention center to city detention in a corruption case in the procurement of COVID-19 masks for the 2020 fiscal year.

The head of the Mataram Police Satreskrim, Adjunct Commissioner of Police, Regi Halili, confirmed that the transfer of Wirajaya Kusuma's detention status was due to health problems.

"The person concerned was suspended due to a congenital disease. Together with his lawyer, he gave a certificate of having to be controlled to a doctor after surgery, so we are responding (the transfer of detention status)," he said in Mataram, Monday, which was confiscated by Antara.

Following up on the issuance of the letter of transfer of detention status, Regi stated that investigators are now implementing mandatory reports against Wirajaya Kusuma.

"It is mandatory to report it every Monday and Thursday," he said.

For the other five suspects, he explained, investigators also plan to implement the same thing, transfer the detention status to city detention. For reasons of diversion, Regi has not provided information.

"So, all others (transversion of detention status) as soon as possible and as soon as possible all files will be sent to the prosecutor," he said.

Last weekend, Friday, August 8, Regi said that investigators had transferred one file belonging to four suspects to the research prosecutor at the Mataram Kejari.

The transfer of files follows up on the investigators who have completed files belonging to four suspects with one of them Wirajaya Kusuma.

Apart from Wirajaya Kusuma in the role of budget user power (KPA) in the positions of Head of the NTB Cooperatives and MSMEs Service, three other suspects in the file are Cholid Tomassoang Bulu, Kamaruddin, and M. Hariyadi Wahyudi.

Regi said that investigators used their files in one unit because they came from the implementing committee from the NTB Cooperatives and MSMEs Office.

Starting from the role of Wirajaya Kusuma as the power user of the budget (KPA), Kamaruddin as the official commitment maker (PPK), M. Hariyadi Wahyudi as the technical executor of the activities (PPTK) and Cholid Tomassoang Bulu as the head of the MSME sector.

Their files are separate from two other suspects, namely Rabiatul Adawiyah, and Dewi Noviany who are suspected of playing a role as business capital borrowers for a number of MSMEs.

In handling this case, the police have examined at least 120 witnesses, experts, and found the results of the audit of state losses from BPKP NTB worth Rp1.58 billion from the nominal procurement of Rp12.3 billion.

In determining the suspect, investigators applied Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
