Chromebook Corruption Cases Getting Stronger, AGO Examines 4 New Witnesses

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) continues to investigate cases of alleged corruption in the procurement of Chromebooks at the Ministry of Education and Culture for the 2019 '2022 period. Recent developments, investigators examined four witnesses, one of whom was the Head of the Planning and Cooperation Bureau of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.

"(Investigating) VA as Head of the Planning and Cooperation Bureau of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education," said Head of the AGO, Anang Supriatna in his statement, Friday, August 8.

Meanwhile, the other three witnesses are AM as Head of Tax of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia, Tbk; PI who is an employee of PT Tera Data Indonesia; and MS as the Main Director of PT Tera Data Indonesia.

However, the material and the results of the examination that took place on Thursday, August 7.

It was only conveyed that a series of examinations were continuously carried out aimed at strengthening the evidence of criminal violations in the case.

"The witness examination was carried out to strengthen the evidence and complete the filing in the case," said Anang.

In handling this alleged corruption case, the AGO named four suspects. They are JT (Jurist Tan) as the Special Staff (Stafsus) of the Minister of Education and Culture for the period 2020-2024 and IBAM (Ibrahim Arief) as a former technology consultant at the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Furthermore, SW (Sri Wahyuningsih) as Director of School Directors of Elementary Schools (SD) of the Directorate of Basic Education and Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2020 2020 2021 as well as the power of budget users within the Directorate of Elementary Schools in the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

Finally, MUL (Mulyatsyah) as Director of Junior High School (SMP) of the Directorate of Basic Education and Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2020 2021 as well as the power of budget users within the Directorate of Junior High School for the first fiscal year 20202021.

The four suspects are suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph 1 and Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2021 concerning Corruption Crimes, in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
