Unfortunately! 68-Year-Old Grandmother Participates In The Pro-Palestinian Demonstration In England Accused Of Terrorist

JAKARTA - Unfortunately, the fate of Marji Mansfield, the 68-year-old grandmother who has seven grandchildren, is accused of being terrorists for channeling her concern to Palestinians who are invaded by the Israeli military.

The allegation against the former banking consultant from the town of Chichester in England was because he participated in the pro-Palestinian demonstration initiated by the Palestine Action organization. Shortly thereafter Palestine Action was included in the list of banned organizations in the UK.

"It's very surprising to be accused of potentially becoming a terrorist," Mansfield told AFP, Friday, August 7.

However, his humanity was moved by the people of Gaza and the West Bank in Palestine who were in trouble, even to eat and drink clean water. When it learned that there was a pro-Palestinian action in the UK, it didn't take long for Mansfield to take part as a demonstration participant.

"I'm just working hard, raising a family, and living a normal life," said Mansfield.

In early July 2025, the British government banned Palestinian Action activities under the UK Terrorism Act. This policy was taken by Britain after Palestinian Act activists broke into an air force base in the UK and damaged two planes to prevent the country's military from engaging in attacks on Palestine.

Since then, the collective civil society of Defend Our Juries has organized protests across the UK to oppose the ban on Palestinian Action activities. The United Nations' human rights chief described the ban as "disproportionate".

According to a member of Defend Our Juries, Crosland's team, more than 200 people have been arrested. They face up to 14 years in prison.

Demonstration plans to support Palestine Action, which was founded in 2020, are planned to be held in London on Saturday. The declaration action committee estimates at least 500 people will attend. Meanwhile, British police have warned all demonstrators could be arrested.
