Cipinang Prison Over Capacity: The Most Cases Of Drugs

JAKARTA - The number of prisoners and inmates at Class 1 Cipinang Prison is overcapacity. Currently, the number of prisoners in Class 1 Cipinang Prison is 2,281 people on Monday, July 21, 2025.

"The capacity here is over capacity," said Head of Cipinang Class I Prison, Wahid Wibowo.

The number of the first crimes with the highest number of prisoners in Class 1 Cipinang Prison is drug cases, totaling 1,639 prisoners.

Meanwhile, in criminal cases, the most cases related to child protection cases amounted to 206.

This case of Child Protection is the second highest number in addition to narcotics crime cases.

Previously, the Directorate of Cyber Investigation (Ditressiber) of the Polda Metro Jaya revealed that a prisoner with the initials AN (40) carried out and controlled online prostitution (Open BO) children from behind bars at the Class I Cipinang Prison, East Jakarta.

This disclosure began with the cyber patrol team of the Cyber Investigation Team of the Metro Jaya Police who found X's social media account that promoted and created an open BO group for Jakarta Students under the name Priti 1185.

The perpetrator with the initials AN turned out to be a convict of the Child Protection case who is still serving his sentence at the Class 1 Cipinang Prison, East Jakarta.
