Deputy Minister Of State Secretary: RI's 80th Anniversary In Jakarta Because IKN Is Still Development

Deputy Minister of State Secretary (Wamensesneg) Juri Ardiantoro said the reason why the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2025 was held in Jakarta because the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) is still in the process of completing development.

"IKN is currently in the process of completing the construction process, so we are concentrating on completing the IKN construction first," said Juri as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 17.

However, he said that in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) there would still be a ceremony to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia which was attended by the IKN Authority.

"Efforts at the points of proclamation will be held in Jakarta," he said.

However, he could not confirm whether Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka would attend the ceremony to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta, or at IKN as commemorated by the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia last year.

"We'll see," he said.

Head of the Presidential Communication Office (PCO) Hasan Nasbi said the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2025 in Jakarta.

"If we get the latest information, the implementation of the August 17 celebration will be held in Jakarta," said Hasan Nasbi.

Hasan said the event committee team had been formed by the Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, and PCO as well as being part of it.
