Targeting Poverty Rate In Jakarta To Drop To 0.5 Percent By 2045, Rano Karno Demands Serious Work

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government targets the poverty rate in Jakarta to decrease to 0 to 0.05 percent by 2045 or during Golden Indonesia. In addition, the Gini ratio is also targeted to decrease to 0.36 to 0.38.

According to him, his leadership and the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, in the next five years, is a transformative phase that will greatly determine the achievement of the 2045 Golden Indonesia target.

In providing directions in the Finalization Forum for Solutions and Priority Matrix for the 2025-2029 Regional Poverty Reduction Plan (RPKD) Program, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno demanded that his subordinates work hard in alleviating poverty.

"This target requires serious work from all regions, including Jakarta, which has also set an ambitious target through Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2024 concerning the 2025 '2045 RPJPD," said Rano at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, July 16.

According to Rano, the challenge of poverty in Jakarta does not only come from the economic condition of the citizens alone.

Poverty also occurs due to structural problems such as inequality in access to education, limited decent housing, rapid urbanization, national and global socio-political dynamics, and a data system that is not yet fully integrated.

All of this has a direct impact on the effectiveness of poverty alleviation programs. In facing these challenges, we need to ensure that the designed intervention is really right on target, focused, and able to reach vulnerable groups," said Rano.

Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government must ensure that all policies and programs really encourage the empowerment of the poor and vulnerable in order to be able to stand on their own feet, not just beneficiaries.

"I hope that the results of this forum will soon be stated in the minutes and become part of the RPKD and RAT documents which will be determined through the governor's decision (Kepgub)," he added.
