Tomorrow Commission I Of The House Of Representatives Holds Fit And Proper Test 24 Prospective Indonesian Ambassadors, Targets To Be Completed Next Week

JAKARTA - Commission I of the DPR RI will hold a fit and proper test or fit and proper test for 24 candidates for the Indonesian ambassador starting Saturday, tomorrow. Commission I of the DPR also targets the names of the elected Ambassador candidates to be sent to the government next week.

Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the DPR, Sukamta, said that the fit and proper test of the 24 candidates for the Indonesian ambassador to the friendly country will be held at the DPR building on Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

"Tomorrow two days (Saturday-Sunday). (In) the DPR," Sukamta told reporters, Friday, July 4.

Sukamta revealed that the fit and proper test for the candidate for the Indonesian Ambassador will be held tomorrow starting at 10.00 WIB. He said the fit and proper test would be completed in two days so that next week a decision could be made by the DPR.

"Hopefully it will be finished this week, next week it will be the DPR's decision," he said.

Previously, the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, revealed that the government proposed ambassador candidates for 24 friendly countries, including the United States and the United Nations (UN). According to the mechanism, Puan said that the government's proposal would be followed up by Commission I of the DPR to hold a fit and proper test for ambassador candidates.

This was conveyed by Puan regarding a letter sent by President Prabowo Subianto to the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) regarding the request for consideration of ambassador candidates for friendly countries which had just been read out in a plenary meeting of the DPR RI.

"In accordance with the mechanism in the DPR and it will be discussed later in Commission I. Earlier in the plenary meeting, I conveyed that the names are confidential. Then the discussion is confidential because this is the first and concerns legality and so on," said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, July 3.

"However, I can convey the proposed state submitted by the government that there are 24 countries," he continued.

Because it is confidential, Puan emphasized that the name of the ambassador candidate for now cannot be disclosed to the public.

"So we will wait for the results of the fit and proper carried out by Commission I. Starting today Commission I will carry out a mechanism in Commission I to carry out a fit and proper property in Commission I," he said.
