Dolphins Appear In The Waters Of The Thousand Islands, DKI Provincial Government: No Need To Be Approached, Just Enjoy Its Presence

JAKARTA - A herd of dolphins re-emerged into the waters of the Thousand Islands some time ago. The emergence of marine mammals at sea level can be seen by people from the beach.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Food, Maritime and Agricultural Security Service (KPKP) Hasudungan Sidabalok asked people who saw this phenomenon firsthand not to disturb the emerging dolphins.

"We urge the public not to approach or disturb the dolphins that appear in the Thousand Islands and simply enjoy their presence," Hasudungan told reporters, Tuesday, July 1.

The community, president of Hasudungan, does not need to worry about the appearance of dolphins around the beach.

This is because the appearance of Lumban Lumban in the waters of the Thousand Islands is a positive thing. Given, dolphins usually appear in clean waters and have lots of small fish as food.

"So their emergence can be an indicator that the waters in the Thousand Islands are healthy," said Hasudungan.

Based on the current calculation, the Jakarta marine health index (IKL) is 69.65, an increase from the previous year, namely 69.77.

"In recent years, it has been reported that several times the dolphins have followed a ship that was walking or around the island," he explained.

"Let's preserve marine life together," he added.
