LAMPUNG - A coffee planter in the Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park (TNBBS) area, precisely in Talang Lobang, Air Hitam District, West Lampung Regency (Lambar), was killed and allegedly eaten by a Sumatran tiger while gardening.
The incident happened to Sudarso (50), a seasonal coffee cultivator from Karang Randu, Krobokan Regency, Central Java, who was found dead while gardening on Tuesday (27/5) at 09.00 WIB.
Peratin (village head) Pekon (Village) Sumber Alam, Husain explained that the victim was found in an incomplete body, while his body from the neck to feet disappeared without a trace. The location of the discovery is about 50 meters from the hut where the victim lived, which is near the coffee garden he worked on.
So far, the victim is known as a seasonal resident who lives alone in a small hut. He was not seen doing his activities for the last two days, until he was finally found in a pathetic condition," he said as quoted by ANTARA.
He explained that the victim had worked on the coffee plantation for a long time in the Pekon Sukapeace area, Talang Lobang, and lived separately from his younger brother, Triono, who also planted in the same location.

According to him, the discovery of the victim's body stemmed from the concern of fellow cultivators because Sudarso had not appeared since the last two days.
After a search was carried out by local residents, pieces of his body were found in the bushes not far from where he lived.
Until now, the police together with TNBBS officers, TNI personnel, and a medical team from the Air Hitam Health Center are still investigating the scene.
