JAKARTA - The Palestinians condemned the Israeli military's shooting at an international delegation near the entrance to the Jenin Refugee Camp on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the occupation targeting the diplomatic delegation, stressing that the aggressive action constitutes a marked and serious violation of international law and the most basic rules of diplomatic relations set out in the 1961 Vienna Convention, which guarantees protection, mission immunity, and diplomatic delegation.

"This intentional and unlawful act is a blatant and serious violation of international law and the basic principles of diplomatic relations as stated in the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations," the Ministry said in a press statement.

The statement added, "The targeting of accredited diplomatic representatives who enjoy legal protection and full immunity under international law reflects the systematic humiliation of Israel's occupation of the norms and obligations governing relations between countries and underlines the strong-rooted impunity it continues to do."

The ministry considers the Israeli occupation government to be fully and directly responsible for the attack, insisting the measure will not be tolerated without accountability.
