It Is Suspected That Two Police Officers Were Involved In The Circulation Of Drugs In Tana Tidung

TANA TIDUNG - Two members of the Tana Tidung resort police, North Kalimantan (Kaltara), with the initials Bripka MA and Bripda RS were secured by the Sesayap Hilir Sector Police (Polsek) team. Both are strongly suspected of being involved in the circulation of methamphetamine in the Tana Tidung Regency area.

Sesayap Hilir Police Chief Ipda Dedy Timang confirmed the arrest. "The two individuals suspected of being involved were revealed after we developed the case and examined one of the alleged perpetrators with the initials SR," said Ipda Dedy Timang, Monday, May 12. "SR admitted that the (shabu) item came from one of the police officers," he added.

Then, the Sesayap Hilir Police moved quickly until finally, at around 02.00 WITA, the police secured the person mentioned by the SR. "After we checked the person, we immediately secured him and taken him to the Kaltara Police Detention Center with Propam escort," he said.

Ipda Dedy explained that a team of investigators from the Sesayap Hilir Police had been dispatched to the Kaltara Police to continue the investigation process further.

The three people who were previously arrested, namely SR, RD, and IS, have been officially named as suspects. "Regarding the status of the five suspects, three of them are SR, RD, and IS, we have named them as suspects because the evidence and witness statements are strong enough. We have also filed a case," said Ipda Dedy.

Meanwhile, for the police officers mentioned by SR, currently their status is still being investigated. "We are still examining the two police officers, we have confiscated evidence such as cellphones and cards. Then we will send them to the Forensic Laboratory in Surabaya for examination of the conversation," explained Dedy.

Ipda Dedy also emphasized that his party is committed to taking firm action if it is proven that the apparatus is involved. "We are committed to taking firm action if any person is involved in drugs, whether it is proven or not later after the examination," he concluded.

To note, the chronology of the arrests began with the results of police surveillance of a location that was strongly suspected of being a place for drug transactions on Jalan Kubura, Sepala Dalung Village. At that time, SR and IS were secured while riding a motorbike.

During the arrest, SR and IS had one motorbike, and evidence was found in the form of Rp1,825,000 in cash and two packages of methamphetamine in the motorcycle seat. Meanwhile, from RD, a package of methamphetamine was found in his pants pocket, the total weight of the drugs was secured weighing 1.13gram.
