Two Teenagers Armed With Sharp Pasrah When Arrested By Police, Threatened With 10 Years In Prison

JAKARTA - Two teenagers with sharp weapons with the initials D (19) and A (15) could only surrender when they were arrested by the police on Jalan Bungur Besar Raya, Central Jakarta.

They surrendered when the Central Jakarta Metro Police Precision Pioneer Patrol Team confiscated as many as 4 sickle blades that he was carrying.

Furthermore, the two teenagers were immediately taken to the Senen Police Station along with evidence in the form of sharp weapons and a motorbike.

"Our team carried out routine patrols and found a group of teenagers with suspicious movements. After being approached, we immediately secured two people for carrying sharp weapons of the type of sickle," said Head of Samapta Polres Metro Central Jakarta, Kompol Willian Alexander when confirmed, Sunday, May 11.

According to Willian, this quick step was taken to prevent worse things.

"The brawl is not just a violation, but a real potential danger to the lives of other people and the perpetrators themselves," he said.

In this case, the police stated the importance of family attention in shaping children's characters and directing them to a more positive path.

"We ask for the active role of parents. Remind our children not to go out at night without a clear purpose. Direct them to positive activities, which can shape the future, not destroy them," he said.

For their actions, the two teenagers were rewarded with Article 2 Paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 for carrying sharp weapons without rights, with a maximum threat of 10 years in prison.
