Six people with disabilities are struggling to enter Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), a state university in South Kalimantan, through the 2025 National Selection Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK).

"Participants with disabilities consist of one tuna and five deaf people," said Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs Iwan Aflanie as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, April 26.

ULM has prepared companions for people with disabilities to help them according to their respective needs.

Iwan said that the acceptance of persons with disabilities to take part in the selection is a form of ULM as an inclusive campus and his party is committed to becoming a campus that is friendly and accepts everyone, regardless of background, ability, or special needs.

"This campus creates an environment where each individual feels valued, has the same opportunity to learn and develop, and does not experience discrimination," he explained.

Currently, ULM is a state university with the highest number of students with the second most special needs nationally after Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta.

There were around 40 ULM students with disabilities spread across various undergraduate programs.

It is known, as many as 10,129 people are scrambling to enter ULM on the 2025 SNBT route which is carried out through the UTBK method, scheduled for eight days starting April 23-30, 2025.

There are 69 undergraduate study programs, including the anthropology program as a new study study program.

This year ULM provides 3,550 seats for new students on the SNBT route, out of a total seat of 7,512 for new ULM students.
