Response To Rizieq Shihab's Arrival In Megamendung, Head Of Kuta Village: Afraid, The Pandemic Period Is Lots Of Viruses

JAKARTA - The Head of  Kuta Village and the Head of COVID-19 Task Force at the Village level, Kusandi, said that he was afraid when he heard the news that Rizieq Shihab would come to the Markaz Syariah Islamic Boarding School because his arrival can attract the crowd.

Kusnadi conveyed the feeling of fear over Rizieq's arrival when he testified at the trial of the alleged crowd and violation of health protocol in Megamendung.

Initially, the presiding judge, Suparman Nyompa, questioned what he felt when he heard the news of Rizieq Shihab at the Islamic boarding school in Kuta Village.

"Yes, I'm afraid too, because, during this pandemic, many people have been confirmed with the virus", said Kusnadi at the trial at the East Jakarta District Court, Thursday, April 29.

Hearing this answer, the judge again questioned what was done when he heard the news. Kusnadi also answered that at that time he immediately issued an appeal to the public.

"We do it from the village government, we appeal to the community to implement health protocols", said Kusnadi.

"Appealing like what?", asked Suparman.

"We make appeal letters and banners and others," said Kusnadi.

In the case of the Megamendung crowd, Rizieq was charged with violating the Health Quarantine Law and was denied the prevention of the COVID-19 outbreak on November 13.

He was also charged with violating Article 216 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code because he deliberately did not follow the rules of the authorities regarding the implementation of the Law.
