Dedi Mulyadi Denies Tax Arrears Lexus: Already Paid, Just Waiting For The Mutation Process

West Java (Jabar) Governor Dedi Mulyadi denied that he was in arrears in paying his Lexus car tax in the midst of his policy on removing vehicle taxes, as has been the case on social media lately.

Dedi said this happened because his car when it was purchased was still in the name of the old owner who lives in Jakarta and he wanted to move the name of the vehicle ownership to his name. This has been taken care of, including the payment.

"I asked if the West Java number was moved or not, sir, the process had to be transferred. But because this is still on behalf of other people, the process takes a long time, it has to go through a leasing mechanism, it can't be done right away. The cost of all kinds is quite good, almost Rp. 70 million. That's taxes, then withdraw files of all kinds, I don't know many terms and I have paid that, but mutations can't be done, maybe in the next one or two weeks," said Dedi, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, April 24.

When met at Pakuan State Building, Bandung, Wednesday (23/4), Dedi admitted that he did not want to use his position so that the process of changing the name of the vehicle could be accelerated.

"Because I never wanted to use this power for personal matters, I didn't tell anyone, so yesterday Plt Bapenda West Java called me, 'Sir, why not ask for help?' I said this is a personal matter, not a government matter," he said.

Dedi admitted that he was offered to be helped so that the process of changing the name of the vehicle could be faster and he agreed but there were conditions, namely that there should be no reduction in costs.

"I said don't reduce the cost, I have to pay according to my obligations. Because I have paid, so there is no problem with the name 'no'. And then the due is January, now it's April. And the transfer process is running. Hopefully, I already know that it's my mutation, who knows it's a bit fast," he said.

In the midst of his policy of eliminating vehicle taxes, Dedi Mulyadi's private car with the Lexus LX600 type is in the spotlight. The car with the police number B 2600 SME belonging to Dedi was recorded to be in arrears of tax up to Rp41 million. The vehicle tax has passed since January 19, 2025.
