The boy's search involved dozens of personnel from various agencies. However, the process took quite a long time due to some technical and natural problems.
Vitus said that one of the main factors blocking the search was the increase in water level which reached standby status 3 on Thursday afternoon. In addition, the swift flow and piles of garbage also made it difficult for the team in the field.
"The condition of heavy currents and the large amount of garbage in the river flow are very difficult to search," said Vitus.
Authorities later stated that the search operation was officially closed at 16.00 WIB, Friday.
Previously, the search was stopped on Thursday night due to minimal lighting conditions and unfavorable weather factors. The process was resumed the next day until finally the victim was found.
