Head of Business Strategy Unit Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) Shinta Syamsul Arief said there was a limit on the number of spectators if Persija Jakarta competed.

JIS has a capacity of 82 thousand spectators. However, the number of direct spectators of the football match allowed at JIS was only 40 thousand people.

"If you make Persija (maximum audience) 40 thousand. Yesterday there was also a statement from the federation, from the League itself, a maximum of 40 thousand," Shinta told reporters, Tuesday, March 18.

This restriction was acknowledged by Shinta based on the provisions of the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) after verifying JIS for Liga 1.

"So there are indeed many considerations for holding such a big event. Including making concerts. Usually we also have mitigation plans," said Shinta.

In addition, Shinta ensured that her party would maximize the use of JIS for Persija after the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda) and PT Persija Jaya Jakarta which made JIS a home base for Persija.

"In the future, maybe we will try our best. With the MoU, Persija will get (certainty)," said Shinta.

Shinta said JIS is a stadium that is intended for various activities, apart from sports, or multi-event venues.

However, after the MoU, the international standard stadium in North Jakarta will be prioritized for Persija's schedules rather than music concerts.

"So far, he's always been like asking us first. 'Is there a concert or not?' Because he also knows that his function of JIS is as a multi-event venue. Now, he will give the schedule first," explained Shinta.

Currently, Shinta continued, Persija has submitted a match schedule for one season until July so that the use of JIS can be prepared.
