BANTEN - The Banten Provincial Government (Pemprov) has prepared two schemes for the realization of the Free School program launched by the Governor-Deputy Governor of Banten Andra Soni-A Dimyati Natakusumah.

The Head of the Banten Province Education and Culture Office, Lukman, said the two schemes were by replacing the Education Development Donation (SPP) costs given to parents, and the flat scheme, namely that all private schools get equal.

Lukman said around 1,200 schools equivalent to SMA/SMK and private MA throughout Banten Province that had been recorded in the program.

However, there are several major private schools that refuse to join the program.

The plan is that the SPP replacement scheme will apply to class X for the 2025/2026 school year. SPP replacement is disbursed four times a year.

He said that in the Free School program, there would be a gradual evaluation in its implementation.

"If the budget and process carried out now are good, we will continue. Otherwise there will be an evaluation for the next period," he said.

The budget disbursed for the program, said Lukman, is around Rp. 114 billion from the Banten Province Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).
