Forms Of Discussion Rooms, Hankam Care Community Wants To Build Civil-Military Relations

JAKARTA - Peduli Hankam launched a community to bridge gaps between enthusiasts and observers of defense and security issues with the general public.

Co-initiator Peduli Hankam, Kenzie Ryvantya said, the presence of the community in order to build positive civil-military relations by disseminating understanding and concern for the issue of hankam among the general public, through inclusive activities

"Because we need an open discussion space to exchange insights and ideas, so that the Hankam issue can be understood and addressed by all circles," said Kenzie in a written statement.

The launch was held in a series of 'Launching of the Hankam Care Community' through a talk show entitled 'The World Is Getting Stronger, Is It Important To Care About Defense and Security?' at the National Awakening Museum, Jakarta on Sunday 23 February.

Head of the Defense Information Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Defense (Kemhan), Brigadier General (Brigjen) of the Indonesian Armed Forces, Frega Wenas Inkiriwang, who was present as the keynote speaker at this event, explained about the situation and conditions in the world as well as the risk of conflict being faced by the Indonesian nation.

Frega assessed that future wars are different. According to him, there will be in the field of intelligence, information, and digital technology, including artificial intelligence (AI). Therefore, he continued, Indonesia must be ready to face the transformation of the defense world.

Furthermore, Frega explained that the TNI has a history of close relations with the community since fighting together against the invaders in the war of independence, and continues to work hand in hand to defend Indonesia from external threats until now.

The history of the establishment of our nation, the relationship between the TNI and the people (already) becomes the root so that we can help them, fight for them and defend their defense (state) today. This is what makes us different from the history of other countries," he said.
