JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto advised the Head of the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI) Rosan Roeslani to manage the institution's funds carefully and transparently.
Rosan, who is also the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, was appointed as the Head or Group Chief of the Danantara, assisted by two other leaders, namely Dony Oskaria as Chief Operating Officer and Pandu Sjahrir as the Chief Investment Officer of the Danantara.
"The message from the President is that this Danantara must be carried out with correct central governance, good governance, caution, transparency and integrity," said Rosan when giving a statement at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday, February 24, as reported by ANTARA.
Rosan explained that Danantara as Indonesia's Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) plays a role in optimizing SOE assets to be invested in various long-term strategic projects.
Danantara as the state's wealth fund manages assets worth more than 900 billion US dollars, with an initial projected fund of up to 20 billion US dollars.
President Prabowo, at the launch of the Danantara, explained that the first batch of investments worth US$20 billion will be prioritized for 20 strategic projects, including downstream nickel bauxite, copper, data center construction, artificial intelligence, petrochemical factory oil refineries, food and protein production, acculture and renewable energy.
Responding to this, Rosan said that the purpose of the formation of the Danantara was the implementation of Article 33 of the Constitution, which has a outline of the Indonesian economy, including natural resources controlled by the state, which could be utilized as much as possible for the benefit of the people.
"The most important thing is for the benefit of the Indonesian people in accordance with the mandate contained in Article 33 which was conveyed by the President. That is our guide and we believe this very good goal, which is very noble and this is a breakthrough," said Rosan.
