Major General Novi Becomes President Director Of Bulog, TNI Warehouses Will Be Used For Rice Savings

Head of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Information Center (Kapuspen) Major General Hariyanto said the TNI's warehouses would be used by Perum Bulog for food security programs.

"The cooperation will utilize TNI warehouses spread throughout Indonesia to strengthen national food security," Hariyanto said when confirmed by the media crew in Jakarta, Monday, February 10, was confiscated by Antara.

He said the use of the TNI warehouse was part of a collaboration between the TNI and Perum Bulog in the context of procuring rice and unhulled rice which was signed on Monday, February 10.

Later, he said, the warehouse owned by the TNI would be used to store grain or rice from food barns in several areas.

However, Hariyanto did not explain how many warehouses would be used to store the grain and rice.

Previously, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) had also signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoU) with the TNI to strengthen the food security program.

One of the decisions from the MoU was the appointment of Major General TNI Novi Helmy Prasetya as President Director (Managing Director) of Perum Bulog.

The decision is contained in the Decree of the Minister of SOEs Number: SK-30/MBU/02/2025 dated February 7, 2025. Major General of the TNI Novi Helmy Prasetya, previously served as Assistant Territorial to the TNI Commander. He will start his tenure as President Director along with Finance Director Hendra Susanto.

Apart from the Board of Directors, the Board of Supervisory Board of Perum Bulog also underwent an overhaul according to the Decree Number: SK-29/MBU/02/2025 dated February 7, 2025 which ended Wicipto Setiadi as the Supervisory Board replaced by Verdianto Iskandar Bitticaca, a retired National Police officer who last carried out his mandate as the Main Assistant to the National Police Chief for Operations.
