SEMARANG - Repairing the railroad line at the crossing between Gubug Station and Karangjati Station in Grobogan Regency, Central Java, which was cut off due to flooding that occurred about two weeks ago, has been completed and has begun to be traversed by trains.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang Franoto Wibowo said one of the two crossing rail lines had been repaired on Tuesday evening.

"At around 18.18 WIB, trains can be crossed at a limited speed," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 4.

He said that the Airlangga train was the first to pass at a speed of 10 km per hour.

Before reopening for train trips, he said, PT KAI had conducted several test runs using rail nurse trains and locomotives.

"Several times it is crossed at different speed levels," he said.

According to him, gradually the train operation pattern that previously had to be rotated would be lifted until the train trip returned to normal.

After repairing one of the lines, he continued, other rail lines are targeted to be reopened soon and can be reused.

Previously, the rail line at the crossing between Gubug Station and Karangjati Station in Grobogan Regency was cut off due to flooding that hit the area on January 21, 2025.

PT KAI takes about 15 days to make repairs so that the path can be reused.
