Prabowo Ensures IKN Development Continues, IDR 48.8 Trillion Allocated Until 2029

JAKARTA President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the development of the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) will remain a national priority. The government has allocated a budget of IDR 48.8 trillion in stages for the period 2025-2029 to continue this project.

This was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), after a limited meeting with President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday, February 3.

"Regarding IKN, it has been confirmed that this project will continue. President Prabowo has allocated a budget of IDR 48.8 trillion for the period 2025 to 2029, which will be used according to the stages and plans that have been set," said AHY.

According to AHY, currently IKN development will be focused on the legislative and judicial areas, including the DPR complex and the offices of the judiciary.

"The State Palace and Garuda Palace have been completed. Now the focus is on regional development and legislative and judicial facilities," he added.

Despite some design adjustments, AHY ensured that the technical team and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) had discussed it in detail.

"The design and strengthening team of basic design that has previously been in collaboration with the Ministry of PUPR has also been involved. There are several adjustments that take time, but it is hoped that it will be finalized soon so that the project can be built immediately," he explained.

President Prabowo's decision to continue the IKN project reflects the government's commitment to equitable national development.

With a clear budget allocation, the construction of the new capital city is expected to run according to plan, creating a modern and sustainable center of government.
