Not Carrying Out Bawaslu Recommendations, The Attorney Asks The North Barito KPU Not To Play With Their Eyes

The General Election Commission (KPU) of North Barito Regency was asked not to 'flirt' with one of the candidates for Regent and Deputy Regent. This is because the recommendation of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) to hold a re-election (PSU) has not been implemented.

"In the quote, we ask the North Barito Regency KPU not to be careless, the recommendations for the PSU have been sent by Bawaslu but not carried out," said one member of the applicant's legal team, Resmen Kadapi to reporters, Monday, February 3.

The recommendation was issued after reports of alleged violations in the election of the Regent and Deputy Regent of North Barito in the 2024 Pilbup.

Thus, Bawaslu issued a letter of recommendation from the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of North Barito Regency number 226/PP.01.02/K.KH/12/2024 dated December 3, 2024 regarding the re-election (PSU).

The violation in question is the addition of an unidentified or voter vote that does not carry an identity card (KTP) when voting, on February 14, 2024.

"Obviously there was a violation in the form of prospective voters who came to Polling Station 04 in Melawen Village, Teweh Baru District, did not bring an electronic ID card or other biodata," explained the Resmen

Bawaslu Barito Utara is said to think that the incident should be taken into account the potential use of the Model C-Notification-KWK form by other people who are not included in the final voter list, transfer voter list, or additional voter list.

"Whereas in Article 19 of KPU Regulation Number 17 of 2024 paragraph (1) point a-c and paragraph (2) it is clear that it is obligatory to bring an electronic ID card or population biodata in voting," he said.

The very brief attitude of the North Barito Regency KPU in examining the law filed by Bawaslu is very unfortunate. Because, it is considered inaccurate in determining steps.

"On December 3, 2025, a letter of recommendation to conduct a PSU by Bawaslu was issued, suddenly on December 4, 2025 at 00.15 WIB, the KPU released the results of the calculation of the Pilbup," said Resmen.
