JAKARTA - The officers of Fire and Rescue Sub-Department (Gulkarmat) deserve the thumbs up. Officers rescue a cat belonging to a woman which is trapped on the wall.

“A cat that was trapped on a wall was successfully evacuated by a member of #DamkarDKI Pademangan Sector on Kampung Muka Street Block B 69, RT 09 RW 04, Ancol Regency, Pademangan District, North Jakarta, "said the official via Instagram humasjakfire, Monday, April 19 evening.

"In less than 10 minutes, the cat was successfully evacuated," said humasjakfire.

Fast Response

In the past, there was a case of the headset being dropped. Not properly attached to his ear, the headset belonging to Ardi (30) fell in the culvert in Ciracas, East Jakarta. Unable to reach the headset in the culvert which is covered with concrete, Ardi chose to ask for help from firefighters (damkar) and rescue workers.

“The information was that he wanted to use a headset, but he hadn't been able to attach it, it fell in a ditch and there was a hole, (headset) going in there. But he can't move because of the concrete, then the fire department is called,” said Gatot Sulaiman, Head of the Operations Section of the East Jakarta Firefighters and Rescue Sub-dept. Gatot Sulaiman, as contacted by VOI, Tuesday, September 8.

The phone of the headset owner was immediately responded to by the fire and rescue team (Gulkarmat). There were 6 personnel who were dispatched to the location of the sewer where Ardi's headset had fallen.

"We helped get the headset," said Gatot.

According to Gatot, officers must respond to every request for assistance that comes in. Apart from the matter of fire, the Gulkarmat team helped save trapped cats or evacuated wasp nests which worried the residents.

"Whatever the request for assistance, we will try to help by responding quickly to residents," said Gatot.
