Couples For Airline Ticket Fraud Arrested At Bogor Area Kost House

Central Jakarta Metro Police arrested a husband and wife who committed fraud and embezzlement with the promo plane ticket mode.

"The perpetrator has now been secured for further legal proceedings," said Tanah Abang Metro Police Chief, Central Jakarta Metro Police AKBP Aditya SP Sembiring, Sunday, January 26.

According to him, the Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim) of the Tanah Abang Metro Police managed to uncover a criminal case of fraud and embezzlement with a loss of Rp. 77,800,000.

He explained that the perpetrator was a husband and wife (couple) with the initials DWN (25) and BLL (21). Both were arrested in the early hours of Sunday at a boarding house in the North Bogor area, Bogor City, West Java.

This case began when the reporter, AS (50), a civil servant from Gresik, East Java, ordered 20 plane tickets to the DWN perpetrator, who claimed to be an employee of the Astrindo Travel Tour N Travel.

The perpetrator offered tickets with the lure of a special promo so that the victim transferred Rp77,800,000 in three stages.

However, after the money was transferred, the complainant found that the perpetrator had resigned from his workplace. Feeling cheated, the victim reported this incident to the Tanah Abang Metro Police.

Through an intensive investigation, the police found the location of the perpetrator in Bogor City. On January 26, 2025 at around 01.00 WIB, the Tanah Abang Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit team arrested DWN and her husband, BLL at her hiding place.

"We will continue to investigate this case to ensure justice for victims," he said.

In this case, the police secured a number of evidences including the transfer of the victim's bank account, the perpetrator's resignation letter, the contents of the WhatsApp (WA) conversation between the victim and the perpetrator, two cell phones, watches, jewelry and cash.

As a result of their actions, the two perpetrators, DWN and BLL, were subject to Article 378 of the Criminal Code concerning criminal acts of fraud and or Article 372 of the Criminal Code concerning embezzlement.
