Encourage Tourism, Acting Governor Of South Sulawesi Focuses On Increasing Events

MAKASSAR - To bring in more tourists, Acting Governor of South Sulawesi Fadjry Djufry encouraged district/city governments to increase events or events in their provinces.

"I am here to see how to activate tourism and cultural sectors, so that it can have a direct impact on the level of operation of our hotels in South Sulawesi," said Fadjry at the opening of the Regional Working Meeting (Rakerda) I Regional Leadership Agency (BPD) of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) South Sulawesi in Makassar, confiscated from ANTARA, Sunday, January 26.

He said the number of visits would certainly have an impact on the occupancy rate of hotels in this area.

"There is a lot of hope from the PHRI, including several existing regulations to be reviewed so that it does not have an impact on the use of our hotel in South Sulawesi," he continued.

Fadjry Djufry revealed that various cultural and tourism events held by the provincial and district/city governments should be packaged properly, and scheduled long before. So, it can be offered to tourists.

Pemprov dan seluruh kabupaten/kota tentunya bersama-sama untuk agar menjadwalkan event di jauh hari sebelumnya. Sebab di beberapa negara itu event tahunannya sudah ada.

"Well, in the future there will be events that will indeed be an attraction for people to come to South Sulawesi. So that the level of hotel needs is not only for two days but can be packaged for weeks and must be well packaged," he said.

He believes that the potential in the tourism and culture sectors owned by South Sulawesi has great value.

Thus, he hopes that relevant stakeholders can work together so that tourists can enter South Sulawesi.

"And I believe South Sulawesi has considerable potential in relation to that, it remains only to make a joint commitment from all stakeholders in South Sulawesi," he concluded.
