Ridwan Kamil: I Remind You, ASN Is Prohibited From Homecoming, There Are No Personal Reasons

JAKARTA - West Java Governor M. Ridwan Kamil emphasized that his party would prohibit the state civil apparatus (ASN) from going home on Eid al-Fitr 2021 because it is still in a COVID-19 pandemic situation.

"I remind you, state civil apparatus (ASN) is prohibited from homecoming, there is no personal reason. For those who violate, sanctions have been prepared both from the direction of the central government and the policies of the governor," said Mr. Emil in Bandung, as reported by Antara, Friday, April 16.

In addition to prohibiting homecoming, Kang Emil, Ridwan Kamil's nickname, appealed to the state civil apparatus (ASN) in the West Java Provincial Government to reduce mobility and avoid crowds. Moreover, the state civil apparatus (ASN) must be an example for society in handling COVID-19.

"I entrust that state civil apparatus (ASN) is an example. If the state has decided (prohibited homecoming), then all must (obey), there should not be many reasons," he added.

Kang Emil said the West Java Regional Police had prepared a scenario of isolation in anticipation of homecoming in the West Java area.

"I think the most important thing is for the public to understand that this is an unpleasant decision but for the sake of safety because the pandemic is not over yet," he said.

"Do not let it happen because we force the elderly to go home to the elderly in the village who have not been vaccinated eventually become victims of selfishness. We want to force ourselves to go home," he said.
