Knock! DPR And Ministry Of Religion Officially Set Hajj Costs For 2025 IDR 55.4 Million Borne By Congregants

JAKARTA - Commission VIII of the DPR and the Ministry of Religion officially set the cost of the 2025 pilgrimage (Bipih) of IDR 55.4 million that must be borne by each congregation.

This cost decreased by around Rp. 500 thousand compared to the cost in the 2024 Hajj season of Rp. 56 million.

The cost of organizing the Hajj (BPIH) is set at IDR 89,410,258 per congregation. The 2025 hajj fee decreased by IDR 4 million from 2024 from IDR 93,410,286.

This figure was obtained in accordance with the approval of the House of Representatives Commission VIII Hajj Committee and the Ministry of Religion after holding a marathon meeting to discuss the costs of Hajj since last week.

The Ministry of Religion initially proposed a Hajj fee of 1446 Hijri/2025 of IDR 93,389,684 per person. However, the DPR asked the government to reduce the cost of Hajj so that it would not be too far from last year's costs.

In the meeting, Panja approved a Bipih of IDR 55.4 million from 62 percent of the total BPIH of IDR 89.4 million. Meanwhile, the cost of the benefit value is 38 percent, which is IDR 34 million.

"The Minister of Religion, Deputy Minister of Religion, Head of the Hajj Organizing Agency, Secretary General of the Ministry of Religion, Director General of PHU, Mr. Inspectorate, can we accept the decision of the committee?" asked the Chairman of Commission VIII DPR, Marwan Dasopang in a meeting to determine the cost of Hajj 2025, Monday, January 6.

"Yes," exclaimed all members of Commission VIII of the DPR and the Ministry of Religion followed by the beating of the hammer of approval.

Before it was enacted, the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) had re-proposed the Hajj Implementation Fee (BPIH) for 2025 amounting to IDR 89,666,469.26.

"For BPIH, after we studied its rationality, service quality and of course its efficiency, we are currently proposing Rp. 89,666,469.26," said Director General (Dirjen) of Hajj and Umrah Implementation of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) Hilman Latief in a meeting with the Working Committee (Panja) for Hajj Fees Commission VIII DPR, Monday, January 6.

Of the amount of BPIH, the fee charged to each congregation or the 2025 Hajj Travel Fee (Bipih) is IDR 55,593,201.57 or 62 percent of BPIH.

Meanwhile, the fee paid from the value of the benefits was IDR 34,073,267.69 or 38 percent of BPIH. Hilman said the decrease in the budget still refers to the exchange rate of IDR 16,000 and the Riyal of Saudi Arabia amounting to IDR 4,266.67.
