KPK Reschedules Examination Of Former KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan January 6

JAKARTA - KPK investigators rescheduled the examination of former KPU commissioner for the 2017 '2022 period Wahyu Setiawan as a witness in the alleged corruption case with the suspect Secretary General (Sekjen) of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto.

"The information we got from the investigator, the person concerned asked for a refresh on Monday (January 6)," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto at the KPK's Red and White Building, Jakarta, Thursday, January 2, as reported by Antara.

Tessa explained that the examination of witness Wahyu Setiawan was originally scheduled for today, but the person concerned could not attend and submit a rescheduling application.

"The person concerned is willing to attend. The reason for his absence is because there are activities that cannot be abandoned. However, the person concerned is willing to attend on Monday," he said.

Wahyu Setiawan was summoned by investigators for questioning regarding the alleged bribery and obstruction of the investigation which allegedly involved Hasto Kristiyanto.

So far, KPK investigators have not provided further information about what material will be confirmed in the examination.

KPK investigators on Tuesday (12/24/2024) named two new suspects in the Harun Masiku case series, namely PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto (HK) and advocate Donny Tri Istiqomah (DTI).

KPK chairman Setyo Budiyanto revealed that HK regulates and controls DTI to lobby KPU member Wahyu Setiawan in order to appoint Harun Masiku as a member of the DPR RI elected from the South Sumatra electoral district I.

HK is also known to regulate and control DTI to actively take and deliver bribes to be handed over to Wahyu Setiawan through PDIP cadre Agustiani Tio Fridelina.

"The HK together with Harun Masiku, Saeful Bahri, and DTI bribed Wahyu Setiawan and Agustiani Tio Fridelina for 19,000 Singapore dollars and 38,350 US dollars in the period 16 December 2019 December 23 December 2019 so that Harun Masiku could be appointed as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2019 period. 2024 from the South Sumatra electoral district," said Setyo.

In addition, KPK investigators also named Hasto as a suspect in the obstruction of justice case or the obstruction of investigation into the following allegations:

1. On January 8, 2020, during the KPK's arrest operation, HK allegedly ordered Nur Hasan, as the caretaker of the aspirations of Jl. Sutan Syahrir No 12 A, which is usually used as an office by HK, to call Harun Masiku to soak his cellphone with water and immediately fled.

2. On June 6, 2024, before Hasto was examined as a witness by the KPK, he allegedly ordered his staff named Kusnadi to drown his cellphone held by Kusnadi so that it would not be found by the KPK.

3. Hasto allegedly gathered several witnesses related to the Harun Masiku case and directed the witness not to provide true information.

Harun Masiku has been named by the KPK as a suspect in the case of alleged gift giving or promises to state officials related to the appointment of elected candidates for DPR RI members for the 2019-2024 period at the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia.

However, Harun Masiku has always been absent from the summons of KPK investigators to be included in the wanted list (DPO) since January 17, 2020.

Apart from Harun, the other parties involved in the case were members of the General Election Commission (KPU) for the 2017-2022 period, Wahyu Setiawan.

Wahyu Setiawan who is also convicted in the same case as Harun Masiku. Currently serving a conditional release from being sentenced to seven years in prison at the Class I Penitentiary Kedungpane Semarang, Central Java.
