Jokowi Accuses OCCRP Of Having To Prove It With Scientific Research Methodology

The Organizational Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) released a list of leaders accused of being involved in organized and most corrupt crimes in the world, including the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi). The list is proposed and comes from readers, journalists, jury, and others on the global OCCRP network.

According to Haidar Alwi Institute Founder, R Haidar Alwi, all forms of crime cannot be proven by polls or polls, but through trials in court. Until now, not a single court decision has found Jokowi guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption.

In fact, allegations of organized crime in the presidential election to win one of the candidate pairs are also not proven in the Constitutional Court (MK). "If the methodology is correct, the OCCRP jury should not have passed Jokowi's proposed name. Because, how can you include someone's name on the list while there is not a single court decision that convicts him of guilt for the crimes alleged? He stated that the title pinned by OCCRP against Jokowi was only an baseless proposal from voting rights holders in polls or polls. As a result, it can damage Jokowi's reputation and good name in the eyes of the Indonesian people, even the world.

"The OCCRP must correct its release and apologize to Jokowi. Otherwise, OCCRP which contains investigative journalists is tantamount to tarnishing its own credibility," he added.

Haidar also highlighted the absence of the name of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the list. The reason is, Netanyahu has been frequently associated with various crimes against humanity, especially regarding his policies towards Palestine. He also faces a number of criminal charges, including cases of fraud, abuse of power, and corruption in Israel's domestic courts.
