JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) for Da'wah and Ukhuwah Cholil Nafis invites all Muslims to make the month of Rajab a momentum for self-reflection.
"Let's correct ourselves. If there are many sins, then we have a lot of istighfar. Have we had a lot of istighfars? The Prophet a day and a night is at least 70 times. We sometimes forget to istighfar, even though the Prophet is forgiven without istighfar," said Cholil Nafis as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
He called on all congregants to work together. Cholil Nafis then reminded that Allah would never punish or punish His servants as long as his servants were always tough on or ask for forgiveness.
"So remembrance with istighfar, remembrance with hamdalah readings, that remembrance can prevent us from Allah SWT's punishment," he said.
Regarding the punishment, Cholil Nafis reminded that the punishment which was judged to be bad things would only be given by Allah SWT to His servants who continued to commit immorality.
Meanwhile, the bad things that happen to God's devout servants are a test.
"If we are immoral experts, it is not a test, it is a punishment," he said.
Thus, he again reminded all Muslims in the country to take advantage of the momentum of the month of Rajab as a time to evaluate themselves regarding the sins that have been committed and ask Allah SWT for forgiveness.
