US Airport Officers Find Dozens Of Fire Flower To Replica Weapons In Women's Rainbow Bags

JAKARTA - A female traveler was forced to undergo an examination by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at the United States airport, after officers found dozens of fireworks and replica weapons in his gossip bag.

The woman's bag was marked for search at Terminal 4 of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), California, United States on December 15, when an examiner saw suspicious items in an X-ray machine.

The contents of the bag were surprising by the officers because they consisted of 82 fireworks, three knives, two replicas of firearms, and one pepper spray tube.

"The amount of prohibited items found in one laptop bag is very concerning," said TSA LAX Federal Security Director Jason Pantages in a press statement, quoted by CNN December 24.

"Let this incident serve as a reminder for all travelers to recheck the contents of your bag before coming to the airport," he said.

According to TSA, the woman carried consumer class fireworks, which are generally weaker in terms of explosive power than fireworks used in professional performances.

Apart from this, explosives such as fireworks are never allowed in jinjing bags, either registered or carried.

Meanwhile, a small replica of firearms and pepper sprays can be put in registered bags for domestic flights.

The passenger who flew to Philadelphia was interviewed by the police, while the LAX bomb disposal squad confiscated the fireworks.

It is known that the woman was not the only passenger trying to carry smuggled goods through LAX in recent weeks.

During the Thanksgiving holiday, a California man allegedly tried to smuggle two suitcases containing 70 pounds of clothing soaked in methamphetamine, including a cow onesie.

The man who ordered a United Airlines flight ticket to Sydney, Australia was arrested in LAX after customs officers detected a "convulsion" in his suitcase and searched his bags.
