JAKARTA - The Commander of the Military Police Center (Danpuspom) of Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), Major General TNI Yusri Nuryanto, revealed that the TNI has dismissed 254 members involved in drug cases.

"During the period from 2022 to 2024, we handled around 254 cases related to drugs. The TNI Commander is not playing around in this matter. The sanction given is dismissal," said Yusri, quoted from ANTARA, Tuesday, December 24.

He added that all of these cases have been transferred to the military court for further legal proceedings.

Yusri emphasized that the TNI continues to be committed to synergizing with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the Police, and Customs in efforts to prevent and prosecute drug abuse. This is done as part of preparations towards Indonesia Emas.

"The TNI will continue to work with various parties to ensure that drug eradication efforts are effective and comprehensive," he said.

In addition to giving strict sanctions, TNI Commander General TNI Agus Subiyanto also gave appreciation to members who succeeded in thwarting drug smuggling.

"For example, Pangdam XII/Tanjungpura succeeded in arresting and thwarting drug smuggling in the border area. During his term of office, he succeeded in handing over almost 200 kilograms of drugs that were successfully confiscated," said Yusri.

Yusri emphasized that this kind of appreciation is a form of support for the performance of members who contribute to drug eradication efforts.
