Fired From PDIP, Bobby Nasution Confirms He Has Become A Gerindra Cadre

The Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, gave a response regarding his dismissal as a PDI-P (PDIP) cadre. Bobby emphasized that he has now become a Gerindra Party cadre.

When met at the North Sumatra Forkopimda Gathering for Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 preparations last Wednesday, Bobby seemed relaxed in responding to the issue. He stated that his personal relationship with PDIP remained good even though it was no longer a cadre of the party.

"Regardless of politics later, yes. My relationship with PDIP remains good. In fact, I sat next to a member of the Medan DPRD from PDIP," Bobby told the media crew.

Bobby also emphasized that he had become a Gerindra cadre before the dismissal was announced. "I've been a Gerindra cadre from yesterday, not just now," he said in a calm tone.

Previously, the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP for Party Honor, Komarudin Watubun, officially announced the dismissal of Bobby Nasution with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, as well as 27 other PDIP members.

The announcement was made on Monday (16/12) in front of the chairmen of the PDIP DPD throughout Indonesia. According to Komarudin, this decision was made based on the basic budget and the party's household budget and was part of organizational sanctions.

"The party's DPP announced the decision to dismiss Brother Joko Widodo, Brother Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Brother Bobby Nasution, as well as 27 other members," said Komarudin while reading the dismissal decree.

Even though he had been fired, Bobby stated that the relationship with PDIP cadres was maintained. This shows that even though he has politically turned to the Gerindra Party, Bobby still maintains good relations with his old PDIP colleagues.

This dismissal is in the spotlight considering Bobby's position as Mayor of Medan and President Jokowi's son-in-law. On the other hand, Bobby's move to join Gerindra was seen as part of the political dynamics ahead of the 2024-2025 political year.
