Bogor City Police, West Java, arrested a man suspected of stealing a pickup on Jalan KS Tubun, North Bogor District, who had hit several other vehicles while fleeing.

Head of the Bogor City Police Traffic Unit, Kompol Ardi Wibowo, revealed that the incident began when a pickup car, which was suspected to have been stolen, drove from Jalan Raya Pemda to Warung Jambu, in a state of being chased by other motorists.

"It is suspected that the car along the way to Warung Jambu hit several vehicles whose identities were not registered," he explained as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 17.

Ardi said that when he arrived at KS Tubun Street near the 9A Police Post, the vehicle hit another car that was stopped at the traffic light. Then, the pickup car was stuck and the driver tried to escape.

"But the community managed to secure it around the crime scene and the officers on guard," he said.

The pickup driver was taken by the police to the North Bogor Police for further investigation regarding the alleged theft of his car.

Meanwhile, he said, related to the accident, the Bogor City Police Gakkum Unit would follow up.

"Indeed, there was a car crash, but later we ask for more time to develop. If there is an accident, we will follow up on it, and if there is a case of theft, the Sector Police will follow up," he said.
