Nurdin Abdullah Bribery Office Searched By KPK

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a search at the bribery office of the defunct Governor of South Sulawesi Nurdin Abdullah, who is also director of PT Agung Perdana Bulukumba, Agung Sucipto.

The search was conducted to investigate the giving of bribes and gratuities to PDI Perjuangan politicians.

"The KPK investigation team continues the search in bulukumba district of South Sulawesi Province, which is the office of the U.S. suspect in Ujung Bulu Subdistrict, Bulukumba Regency," kpk spokesman Ali Fikri said in a written statement, Wednesday, April 14.

He did not disclose what items investigators found and confiscated from the office. Because, the search is still ongoing to this day.

"Further developments will be re-informed," he said.

Previously reported, KPK conducted a search at the house of the boss of PT Purnama Karya Nugraha and his office. As a result, kpk found a number of evidence allegedly related to alleged bribes and gratuities received by Nurdin.

In this case, kpk set Nurdin Abdullah as a suspect in the case of alleged bribes and gratuities related to the procurement of goods and services, licensing and infrastructure development in the South Sulawesi Provincial Government fiscal year 2020-2021.

This PDIP politician was assigned a suspect along with the Secretary of pupr office of South Sulawesi Province Edy Rahmat. Meanwhile, Director of PT Agung Perdana Bulukumba (APB) Agung Sucipto was designated as a suspected briber.

While serving as Governor of South Sulawesi, Nurdin allegedly received bribes and gratuities with a total value of Rp 5.4 billion related to projects in the South Sulawesi Provincial Government. Rp2 billion of money was given from Agung through Edy. The bribe was given so that Agung could return to work on the project in South Sulawesi for fiscal year 2021.

For his actions, Nurdin and Edy were ensnared in Article 12 letter a or b or Article 11 and Article 12B of Law (Uu) No. 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes (Tipikor) as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 juncto Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, Agung is charged with Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of Law No. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 juncto Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
