PDIP Explains Reasons For Jokowi, Gibran, And Bobby's Dismissal Just Implemented Currently

The chairman of the PDI-P DPP for the Victory of the Executive Election, Deddy Yevri Hanteru Sitorus, explained the reason why his party had just announced the dismissal of Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Bobby Nasution at this time.

According to Deddy, the PDI-P did not take steps to dismiss the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) because it wanted to maintain Jokowi's dignity as president who was still in office.

"We have the ethical value and political morality to maintain Jokowi's dignity as president who must be respected during his tenure," said Deddy to reporters, Monday, December 16.

Deddy explained, after the 2024 Presidential Election and Legislative Election (Pileg), PDIP chose to focus on facing the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) as a national political agenda. After the Pilkada, then the party has time to evaluate cadres who violate party rules throughout Indonesia.

"After the Pilkada is finished, we can only gather party leaders from all provinces to evaluate cadres who commit violations. So, this is not only a matter of Jokowi and his family, but of all cadres in Indonesia," he explained.

Deddy emphasized that PDIP does not want a false narrative to corner the party as if the dismissal was carried out because Jokowi's son, Gibran, fought in the 2024 presidential election or his son-in-law, Bobby, in the 2024 North Sumatra Pilkada.

"The best thing is to do the dismissal after all the political contestation is over. This is to be clear and firm that this process is solely to enforce the rules and discipline of the party," said Deddy.

Previously, PDIP officially fired three of its cadres, namely Joko Widodo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Bobby Nasution. This dismissal was announced by the Chairman of the PDIP DPP for Honorary Affairs, Komaruddin Watubun, through a video circulating.

The decision to dismiss is contained in: - Decree (SK) Number 1649/KPTS/DPP/XII/2024 for Joko Widodo, - Decree Number 1650/KPTS/DPP/XII/2024 for Gibran Rakabuming Raka, - SK Number 1651/KPTS/DPP/XII/2024 for Bobby Nasution.

The three were fired along with 27 other party cadres. Komaruddin emphasized that this dismissal was a direct order from the Chairperson of the PDIP, Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"The Party DPP announced the decision to dismiss Brother Joko Widodo, Brother Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Brother Bobby Nasution, as well as 27 other members who were subject to dismissal," said Komaruddin.
