The US Military Confirms Mysterious Drones Fly At Germany's Ramstein Air Base, Operators Haven't Been Tracked

JAKARTA US Air Force Spokesman confirmed drones flew over US airbase in Ramstein, Germany, in early December.

"There is no impact on the occupants of the base, facility, or asset," the spokesman said.

"Together with German state authorities, we continue to monitor airspace to ensure public safety and security," the US military added.

Security sources told Reuters German authorities had not tracked down the drone operator, but ruled out the possibility of the drone being operated by amateurs.

Germany's intelligence chief has warned that the country's support for Ukraine in its war with Russia has targeted possible sabotage attempts, and recent security incidents in military barracks are increasing concerns.

Spiegel also reported an unexplained drone sighting at the German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall and the BASF chemical industry.

"BASF's site security is our top priority," a company spokesman said in an emailed statement.

"Therefore, we always monitor suspicious activities and cooperate with the relevant security authorities," he added.
