Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar said his party accepted and followed up on proposals related to the certification of the da'wah interpreter.
His party is preparing a process to conduct the study in the near future so that an appropriate decision can be made regarding the proposal.
"We are reviewing it in the near future," said Nasaruddin at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 9.
The proposal regarding the study of da'wah interpreters in Indonesia initially came from a member of Commission VIII DPR Maman Imanulhaq to ensure that preachers have sufficient capacity to convey religious values.
"The Ministry of Religion needs to certify the da'wah interpreter," Maman said in a statement in Jakarta, Wednesday (4/12).
The proposal was submitted in response to a viral video containing the words of the famous Miftah Maulana who was often called Gus Miftah.
In the video, there is a Miftah greeting that is considered by most people to have harassed a resident selling tea ice.
In fact, on social media X and Instagram, the public criticized Miftah's words because it was considered not to reflect a lecturer/dai who should have given him coolness.

According to Maman, this case is a lesson for all parties to maintain their words in public.
Maman said that preachers should be people who have the least control over religious sources, be it from the Al Quran, hadith, or classical sources.
In addition, according to Maman, ulama are also advised to have religious main themes in every source of lecture. He emphasized that there should be no dirty language or jokes that make fun of other parties when preaching.
"The theme presented must also refer to religious sources. For example, about simplicity or others. It all has to come from religious references such as in the first point," he said.
