Unscrupulous PNS Kejari Deli Serdang And Her Women's Friends Arrested Allegedly Involved In Car Embezzlement Syndicate

DELI SERDANG - Medan Tembung Police, Medan Polrestabes, arrested an individual civil servant of the Deli Serdang District Attorney's Office, North Sumatra, with the initials R (45), suspected of being involved in a syndicate of rental car embezzlement.

"Pelaku R merupakan seorang oknum PNS yang bertugas di Tata Usaha Kejari Deli Serdang," ucap Kepala Polrestabes Medan Kombes Gidion Arif Setyawan di Medan, Antara, Minggu, 8 Desember.

This civil servant of the Deli Serdang District Attorney's Office with the initials R was arrested along with his friend, a woman with the initials W (44).

Both were arrested by the Medan Tembung Police Criminal Investigation Unit team, Medan City on Monday (2/12), and confiscated as many as six cars suspected of being embezzled by the perpetrators.

Gidion said that perpetrator R was a resident of Jalan Namorambe Perum Pemda, Pagar Merbau III Village, Lubuk Pakam District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

Meanwhile, perpetrator W is a resident of Jalan Parkit XVI, Kenangan Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

"The modus operandi of the two perpetrators started with perpetrator W borrowing rental cars from the victims. One of them was Jonathan Hasiolan Aritonang (24), a resident of Jalan Seriti X, Percut Sei Tuan," he said.

After borrowing a car, he continued, perpetrator W handed over the car to perpetrator R. Furthermore, perpetrator R sold or pawned the car at various prices.

"The perpetrators used a rental car that was borrowed from the victim, then the perpetrators sold or pawned the cars in different places," said Gidion.

Then, he explained, these victims only realized and knew that their car was rented and did not return after some time.

"The victim only realized that the car was not there, after some time it was used by the perpetrators," he said.

Gidion, who once served as Head of the North Jakarta Metro Police, emphasized that the two perpetrators are currently still in the process of investigating Medan Tembung Police investigators.

"The two perpetrators are suspected of Article 378 and/or 372 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of four years in prison," he explained.
