JAKARTA - American President-elect Derekat (US) Donald Trump said the US should stay away from the escalation of the escalating conflict in Syria.
Trump said this ahead of Syrian rebels approaching the capital Damascus on Saturday, December 8 local time.
"It's not our fight," Trump wrote on his social media.
The US national security adviser separately admitted President Joe Biden had no intention of interfering in the battle for power to bring down the Russian-backed Syrian President Bashar Assad Government.
The statement contradicts US, Turkish and Israeli forces in real support of Syrian rebel operations to overthrow the power of President Assad's government.
"The United States will not ... enter militarily into the midst of Syrian civil war," Jake Sullivan told media crews in California.
