Police Immediately Reconstruction Of The Case Of Harassment Of Agus Bentung From Approaching Victims To Lodging

MATARAM - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police (Polda) has scheduled a reconstruction of the alleged sexual harassment case of a suspected victim with the initials IWAS alias Agus Bentung.

"According to the results of the latest coordination with the prosecutor, we were asked to reconstruct the suspect's version at the TKP (the crime scene)," said Director of General Criminal Investigation at the NTB Police, Kombes Syarif Hidayat, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, December 6.

He revealed that his party had scheduled the reconstruction of the case with the prosecutor's office on Wednesday (11/12).

"God willing, if nothing changes, Wednesday (11/12) at the TKP, because Monday and Tuesday, we still receive a team from the center for our evaluation and assistance in our work in handling this case," he said.

Syarif did not explain the crime scene, including presenting suspects and victims at the crime scene.

However, the investigation process revealed that there were two crime scenes that were part of a series of cases of alleged sexual harassment. The first crime scene, in one of the city parks and the second crime scene at the inn location. The two TKPs are in Mataram City.

Furthermore, Syarif said that in completing the transfer of case files to the investigating prosecutor, investigators had attached the results of the victim's version of the reconstruction.

"So, what has not been reconstructed is the suspect's version at the TKP, that's a request from the prosecutor's office, the latest update is coordination with the prosecutor," he said.

In handling cases related to the Law on the Crime of Sexual Violence (TPKS), it is not known the procedure for returning files from the investigating prosecutor or P-19.

"Therefore, we coordinate directly with the prosecutor. Hopefully with what we will do this (reconstruction), including later there will be expert witnesses who will be asked by the prosecutor from UGM (Ejah Mada University), hopefully we can fulfill it, so that as soon as possible P-21 (the case file is declared complete)," said Syarif.
