Police Arrest Masturbative Exhibitionist Man At Trans Studio Mall Bandung

Bandung Police arrested a man with the initials FA for exhibitionist behavior towards a woman who took place inside the Trans Studio Mall Bandung shopping center.

Bandung Police Chief Kombes Budi Sartono explained that the victim with the initials DSOS reported the incident after realizing that the perpetrator had committed acts of sexual harassment.

"The reporter and the witness immediately checked CCTV. From the CCTV results, it can be seen that the perpetrator approached the victim from behind. So the victim did not see and the suspect intimidated," Budi said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, December 6.

Budi revealed that his party immediately followed up on the report by identifying the perpetrators through CCTV and successfully arresting the FA in less than 24 hours at his residence in Bandung City.

"The perpetrator admitted his actions after being examined and supported by evidence from CCTV footage and witness testimony," he said.

Budi revealed that this kind of exhibitionist act shows the possibility of psychological disorders in the perpetrators.

Therefore, the Bandung Polrestabes will involve psychologists to explore the FA's mental condition and determine whether this is the first action or has been done in another location.

"From the new confession, we will continue to explore whether the person concerned has done it elsewhere," he said.

Budi appealed to the public to remain alert to indecent acts in public places and immediately report if they become victims or witness similar incidents.

For his actions, the FA is now charged with Article 5 of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning the crime of sexual violence with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
