Interpol Indonesia Contacts China To Hand Over Fugitives Online Gambling

JAKARTA - Secretary of the National Central Bureau (NCB) Interpol Indonesia Brigadier General Pol. Untung Widyatmoko said that his party had contacted Interpol China to hand over a fugitive related to a gamblingline (online) with the initials YZ alias Yan Zhenxing.

"We have contacted Interpol Beijing to immediately hand over the suspect because the suspect is a fugitive from Interpol Beijing," Untung said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, December 5.

YZ was secured by the Batam Immigration Office on Monday (2/12), and was only handed over by the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Kemen Imipas) to Interpol Indonesia this Thursday.

YZ committed a criminal act by collecting funds from the Chinese people amounting to 130 million yuan or around Rp. 284 billion through the gambling site, Manu Zianja.

"We show our commitment to make Indonesian territory not a haven for Interpol fugitives or fugitives who in this case commit transnational crimes," he said.

According to him, the collaboration between Kemen Imipas and NCB Interpol Indonesia is not just words, but has been implemented in real terms, as in the YZ case.

"Of course, the results of collaboration carried out by the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections of the Republic of Indonesia with us the Indonesian National Police (Polri), in this case we are from the NCB Interpol Indonesia Secretariat, not the first time this is the first time, but many times," he said.
