KPK Gold Auctions To Antiquities Cars Looted By Corruptors

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is auctioning looted goods in the form of luxury cars and motorbikes belonging to corruptors whose cases have permanent legal force or inkrah. The auction is a series of World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) 2024.

"There are 31. Then there are 17 motorbikes and 2 bicycles," said KPK Execution Prosecutor Syarikyah M. to reporters at the Confiscated Object Storage House and Rampasan Goods (Rupbasan), Cawang, East Jakarta, Thursday, December 5.

There are many types of cars and motorbikes that will be auctioned. Among them are Hummer H3 with an initial auction price of Rp. 610 million to a big Harley Davidson motorcycle with an initial price of Rp. 76 million.

The auction will be held in three sessions. Motorized vehicles will take precedence because there are more enthusiasts.

Apart from vehicles, the KPK also auctioned jewelry to luxury bags. There is also a luxury Rolex branded watch with the type Datejust and electronic goods.

The public can see the condition of the goods during today's aanwijzing, Thursday, December 5. This moment attracted the interest of one of the residents, Ajie Purnama, who claimed to know information on the auction implementation from the catalog sent by his brother.

Ajie then registered as an auction participant and received an invitation to attend the Rupbasan. "Now come here to see if the goods are really good," he said.

"Many kilometers are still low, all machines are good," continued Ajie.

To reporters, he admitted that he had seen a number of luxury cars looted from corruptors such as Mercedes Benz to BMW. He also had time to try and hope to win the auction.

"The auction depends on the bidding. Hopefully you can, just pray," he said with a smile.
