Heru Hanindyo, Suspect Of Bribery Of Ronald Tannur's Verdict To File Pretrial

JAKARTA The judge of the Surabaya District Court (PN), Heru Hanindyo, who is a suspect in the alleged bribery related to the acquittal of the Gregorius Ronald Tannur case, submitted a pretrial application to the South Jakarta District Court.

The application was submitted to test the validity of legal actions committed against him, such as the arrest, detention, search, confiscation, and determination of the status of suspects. In this case, the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office became the respondent.

"The application was submitted on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, to the South Jakarta District Court's criminal secretariat," said Public Relations of the South Jakarta District Court, Djuyamto, in his statement, Thursday, December 5.

The application is registered with Number 123/Pid.Pra/2024/PN.JKT.SEL. The inaugural trial will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, with single judge Abdullah Mahrus.

Heru Hanindyo is one of three judges from the Surabaya District Court who was named a suspect in the alleged bribery case against Gregorius Ronald Tannur. The other two judges involved were Erintuah Damanik (Chairman of the Panel of Judges) and Mangapul (members).

The three were arrested by Jampidsus investigators at the Attorney General's Office on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in Surabaya, and immediately named as suspects in the evening. After being temporarily detained at the East Java High Prosecutor's Office, the three were transferred to Jakarta on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

In this case, the three judges allegedly accepted bribes from Lisa Rahmat, lawyer Ronald Tannur, to give acquittal against his client who was charged in the murder of his girlfriend, Dini Sera Afriyanti.

Investigators found a number of evidences in the form of billions of rupiah in cash and electronic evidence during searches at various locations related to the suspects.

For the actions of the suspects, judges ED, M, and HH as recipients of bribes were charged with Article 5 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 6 paragraph (2) jo. Article 12 letter e jo. Article 12B jo. Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, LR as the bribe giver, was charged with Article 5 paragraph 1 jo. Article 6 paragraph (1) jo. Article 18 of the Law on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 Paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code.

The pretrial application submitted by Heru Hanindyo will be an important legal effort in testing the legal action that has been taken against him. Meanwhile, the legal process against other suspects is still ongoing.
